ACRECONF conference - 2013

The students of Building Engineering and Management attended ACRECONF, an international conference, which was organized by the Delhi Chapter of ISHRAE, in association with ASHRAE India chapter. It was a two day event (8-9 February 2013) the theme of which was “360 Degree View on Emerging Mega Trends in Building Design ". It had five parallel technical sessions spread over two days with eminent speakers from India and abroad.


Talks followed by interaction with the audience were based on a variety of subjects. The topics were very relevant to current construction industry; to name a few:  trends in sustainable practices, non conventional alternate energy, trends in air conditioning, building information modeling, international codes and standards, building operations, structural design, tall buildings, townships / infrastructure, health care, cold chain and  IT & data centers.


This conference was started in the year 2001, and it was attended by nearly 200 delegates with 25 technical papers at that time. ACRECONF has been attracting a lot of interest and has been growing very rapidly. This year the conference was attended by over 2000 delegates and had attracted over 100 technical papers.


Participation in an event of such importance gave the student of MBEM a dynamic view of latest trends in the construction industry and an opportunity to meet professionals and interact with them.
